If your school mislead you, or violated laws relating to your student loan or the educational services that your loan paid for, you can apply to the U.S. Department Of Education for Student Loan Forgiveness Through Borrower Defense. You must complete and file the U.S. Department Of Education Borrower Defense Application Form.
If your application is approved all or part of your loans will be forgiven, and you may be reimbursed for loan payments that you previously remitted.
Student loan forgiveness may be granted in cases where schools are not properly accredited, or close down before you complete your program.
Your student loan can be placed in forbearance while the application is reviewed, but interest continues to accrue, and must be paid if the application is denied.
